Ladies Retreat 2007

Well, Ladies Retreat came and went and we made it back in one piece. There were some slippery roads and some minor snowstorms that we drove through so we were glad to be back home. We arrived home to some ice from a storm while we were gone and then we promptly had a lake effect snow dump that dropped 5 inches or so. It's beautiful but messy!! Ladies retreat went really well. The speaker was a lady who's family is a missionary with CSSM (Canadian Sunday School Mission). She gave some refreshing talks about recognizing our heritage relating to our earthly families as well as our spiritual heritage and challenged us to deeper relationships and a heart and passion to share Christ with those that are a part of our heritage. Her talks also included challenging us to thank God for our heritage even if it's not a positive one...that what has gone before us made us who we are today. It was a great time of sharing and being open with other ladies from around the area. Here are some pictures from the weekend.

Women's Retreat at Camp of the Woods

Well, shortly after Thanksgiving we'll be heading back out to Camp of the Woods. We will be helping out with the Women's Retreat. Rachel will be helping out in the kitchen on Saturday morning as well as wherever she is needed. Ryan will be working on some maintenance work as well as possibly running the sound system for the Chapel meetings. We're looking forward to spending this time in Canada. Please pray for the girls that they handle the trip well with good attitudes and minimal fighting in the backseat (I guess that prayer would be as much for sanity for us as it is for peace among them!) Also pray that Rachel would not experience a lot of discomfort on the long drive. Traveling while in your third trimester of pregnancy is probably not the most comfortable experience to set out on but we're positive that all will be well. Pray that the women that come to the retreat would be renewed in their devotion to God and their energy to serve the Lord in raising their families and being the wives that they are called to be would be restored. Please pray as well that as leaders and helpers we would be able to encourage them and challenge them to the tasks and lives that they go home to. Thank you so much for your prayers and support as we look to heading in to this ministry full-time. Happy Thanksgiving!

We're Having a Baby (Boy?)

Well, here's the announcement. We're expecting another baby in February 2008. Here's my 15 week ultrasound picture. It was so fun watching the squirmy little baby as they tried to get measurements. The technician claims that we're having a boy. I guess we've had a few girls so I'm a little doubtful until we see this little baby face to face!! We're very excited and the girls are too!

Kanesha and Bella watching a movie during down time

We had a great time helping out with the last week of Junior Camp up at Camp of the Woods. The weather was cooler than we had expected but we enjoyed the outdoors regardless. Ryan helped with game time and led a morning Bible Study for the support staff. Rachel helped in the kitchen with supper preparation and chased the girls around the rest of the time! The mosquitoes were minimal and the campers were very enthusiastic. Our girls loved learning some of the new camp songs that were taught at chapel time. The drive there took us about 15 hours and the drive back about 13.5 hrs. Long but uneventful. Praise the Lord for His protection over us. It was nice for us to be able to get to experience summer camp in action. We are so glad that we were able to go.

Natalie the mechanic

Natalie wanted to work on the girls' jeep. She asked Ryan to put jacks under so she could work better. Then she took water and spilled it on the ground to make it look like a fluid leak because that's what Ryan has been working on lately. So funny!!!

Big Fire Night...Sincock style

We had "Big Fire Night" with our youth group last Monday. When they said big fire, they really meant it. It wasn't all that comfortable either with 90 degree temps and very high humidity but a good time was had anyway. Enjoy!

Fathers Day

We enjoyed spending time celebrating our dad's together on Sunday. We had a cook out at Ryan's parent's house. The weather was beautiful and I had the yummiest marinated portobello mushroom burgers I've ever had! Here are some of the pictures of us all enjoying ourselves. Enjoy!

Camping at Wyalusing

Well, we finally took our first camping trip of the year. Our small group from church all went to Wyalusing State Park for the weekend. We had a good time. We did some hiking, took some canoe rides, attempted to fish, sat around the fire a lot, made smores, pudgie pies, played cribbage, bocce ball...you know, the usual. Sunburns, and mosquito bites were had by all!!
