Cold induced baking...

Maybe it's the subzero temps or my lack of desire to leave the warm house or a combination but baking has ensued nonetheless. My first attempt at returning to sourdough bread baking went well. So well in fact that this loaf did not make it through dinner.

Homemade granola bar success

Well I have been looking for a homemade granola bar that tastes good and doesn't crumble. I finally found one that works and the kids like it which is a bonus! My only complaint is it does have brown sugar and honey in it but I'm over it. This recipe is super easy and quick since it doesn't have to bake.

Boys will be boys...

Jeremiah and Bella decided that playing in the treehouse wasn't enough of an adventure. Climbing up on top of the roof would be way more fun. Well that fun quickly came to an end for them when Jeremiah lost his footing and tumbled off down a good ways to the snowy hill below. A broken leg and four weeks in a cast are the consequences of this little escapade. Do I think this will keep him off of the roof?? Not a chance but I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on their treehouse play!!

Return of sunshine to Hidden Cove

Yay! The sun is back. Nothing like warm rays of sunshine streaming in the window to make me want to sit still and let it shine on my face and not move until it fades away. Just about 2 minutes of sun right now but it's back.
